“Dawn Derow unleashed her inner rock star this afternoon in “Women’s Work,” her tribute to female trailblazers of pop songwriting & singing. With it she adds vivid new colors to her vast rainbow of vocal styles: classical (“Legit”), Standards & Showtunes (“Eydie Gorme”), classic American Songbook (“1941”), and her intimate work with guitarist Sean Harkness (“Music 4 Two”). She can do it all.” – Jeff Harnar, director and cabaret superstar’s comments.

“Dawn Derow’s show exceeds and changed my opinion of cabaret singers. This isn’t just a cabaret, but a fabulous one woman show.” ~ Suzanne Bowling – Times Square Chronicles

“Dawn Derow Sings Eydie Gormé” debuted at Birdland Theatre in May 2021 and at Feinstein’s/54 Below in March 2022, receiving rave reviews. This tribute honors one of America’s most underrated singers from the 1950s-1970s.
Derow revitalizes Gormé classics like “This Could Be The Start of Something Big,””Day By Day,” and “Gypsy In My Soul,” accompanied by her acclaimed Music Director Ian Herman on piano. The show can be performed as a solo act (60-70 minutes or as a two act show), often featuring a male guest artist to represent Steve Lawrence, performing “Bei Mir Bist Du Schön” and selections from their 1968 musical “Golden Rainbow.”
In 2025, this show finally made its way to South Florida with a performance at Café Centro. Jeff Harnar joined as “Steve Lawrence” — and since his schedule fi lls up quickly with his own shows, it’s important to plan well in advance. Ian Herman, our arranger and music director, came down from New York City, and we rounded out the band with a talented local bassist and drummer.
“Derow had succeeded in delivering the essential essence of Eydie Gormé. This is a testament that can’t be underestimated.”
“Derow’s admiration of her subject ran deep, and with authenticity. …She had to adapt her own delivery to meet the challenge of channeling Gormé without being a carbon copy. In so doing, dramatic numbers such as “If He Walked Into My Life” (Jerry Herman) were delivered to perfection.”- Marilyn Lester, NiteLife Exchange
Musicians needed: Pianist, Bass, Drums and Male Guest Appearance “As Steve Lawrence” Jeff Harnar
Celebrating the iconic West Coast Venue featuring the music of Carly Simon, Jimmy Webb, Linda Ronstadt, Van Morrison, James Taylor, Joni Mitchell, Johnny Cash, and much more…
The show celebrates the golden era of singer-songwriters with fresh, heartfelt takes on classics like Elton John’s “Take Me To The Pilot”, or Dawn’s favorite Carole King 1972 single “Bitter With The Sweet”. Everyone loves singing along to “Shower the People” by James Taylor, beautifully sung by Peter Calo. The legendary Troubadour in West Hollywood also launched the career of Guns N’ Roses in 1986, so Peter & Dawn set the scene for a powerhouse rendition of “Sweet Child o’ Mine” that you defi nitely don’t want to miss.
“It was an awesome display of musicianship by Dawn & Peter, who perfectly captured the sounds of that era during their scrupulously researched and exciting show. One could imagine that back in the day, Derow & Calo would have also become one of the era’s superstars if they had performed on the stage of the legendary Troubadour.” ~ Stephen Sorokoff , Times Square Chronicles
“In ‘Backyard’ Troubadours Dawn Derow and Peter Calo cast a spell over the audience at “Tangle-Tuit”, our new outdoor performance pavilion, channeling the 70’s LA music scene and had everyone dancing under the stars and basking in a glow of nostalgia” ~ David Kuehn, Artistic Director of Cotuit Center for the Arts
Musicians needed: Guitarist Peter Calo, Bass, Drums and Special Guest/Extra: Saxophonist (Costs do not include printing/marketing)
Notes about Troubadour Tribute:
Dawn Derow & Sean Harkness – “Then & Now”
Singer Dawn Derow and guitarist Sean Harkness have been performing together since 2010, creating a distinctive blend of jazz, traditional pop, folk, and rock — all reimagined through their intimate, soulful arrangements. The duo fi rst collaborated on their acclaimed album Music 4 Two, and in 2023 they reunited to celebrate its 10th anniversary with performances of their show Then & Now at both The Green Room 42 and Pangea in New York City.
Their musical chemistry and storytelling artistry make every performance an engaging, genre-spanning experience that bridges the elegance of cabaret with the authenticity of acoustic artistry. The duo continues to collaborate and record new music, most recently releasing their rendition of “On the Street Where You Live” on April 10, 2025, accompanied by a beautifully produced video. Up next is their heartfelt cover of “Everything’s Gonna Be All Right” — originally recorded by Tuck & Patti in 1988 — a song that perfectly captures the duo’s signature warmth, optimism, and acoustic intimacy.
Dawn & Sean have performed in many of the prestigious NYC Clubs, as well as, Monhonk Mountain house, Cape Cod Art Galleries, and the Hamptons. This is a great show as they can really curate the set list for your crowd of music lovers. Sometimes they even take requests ahead of time.
“Then and Now … is a wonderful musical conversation between two artists whose ten-year collaboration has created a symbiosis that’s nothing short of magical.” ~Scott Barbarino, NiteLife Exchange

This is Dawn Derow’s newest addition to her acclaimed series of self-produced shows — and the fi rst time she celebrates an iconic composer-lyricist team. Sing Happy: The Wonderful Women of Kander & Ebb is theatrical, smart, and irresistibly entertaining — fi lled with sass, sensuality, humor, and moments of real depth.
Through the unforgettable songs of John Kander and Fred Ebb, Dawn explores the women who dare, dream, and defy — from the smoky decadence of Cabaret to the brass and bravado of Chicago. The show also isn’t afraid to touch on the darker side of their work, refl ecting the political and social tensions of “then and now,” while ultimately leaving audiences uplifted by the joy, wit, and emotional truth in their music.
The show debuted at the Provincetown Cabaret Festival on June 7, 2025, as part of the festival’s “Razzle Dazzle” celebration of Kander & Ebb. Drawing on her background in movement and dance, Dawn opened the show with a sultry, cheeky “Don’t Tell Mama” — complete with a classic cabaret cane and chair.
Now preparing for its New York City debut at The Triad Theater (November 18 & December 1, 2025), Sing Happy has been hailed as a thrilling blend of style, storytelling, and sophistication — the perfect show for audiences who appreciate Broadway glamour with a wink and a heartbeat.
